Good coaching can help with many different aspects of professional and personal life. Below are examples of some of these areas, along with basic advice and techniques for improving personal performance. 

Voice
The way you speak, combined with your body language, is fundamental to the way that you are perceived by others. Whether it is day to day social interaction, an interview or a business presentation, a strong, clear voice is vital for effective communication.
Some voice techniques include:
•Relaxed but strong posture – head up, shoulders down, hips forward, knees unlocked and feet firmly planted.
•Slow and regular deep breathing from the stomach.
•Clear enunciation, good volume and use of pauses for emphasis.
•Variation of tone to mark key points and changes in topic.
•Good preparation – planning and rehearsal of material, warm up and care for the voice.

Many factors in the office working environment, such as photocopying fumes and air-conditioning, can be detrimental to the condition of the voice. Caffeinated drinks can also weaken your speech –plenty of water is the best remedy.

Goal setting
Effective goal setting can make all the difference, allowing you to work faster and better, as well as helping to organise every aspect of ordinary life.
Your goals should be:

SPECIFIC
MEASURABLE
ADJUSTABLE
REALISTIC
TIME BASED
EXCITING
RECORDED

Interview technique
•Research the company, and review your CV and other application material – try to anticipate what you might be asked.
•Positive body language, such as a firm handshake and strong eye contact, can help create a confident impression.
•Be concise in your speech and avoid waffling – your mission is to provide as much information as you can, simply and memorably, in a short space of time.
•Ask questions. Show an interest in the company and the specific job you are applying for.
•Don’t lie!
CVs
Most CVs are looked at very briefly. Employers are looking for key words and phrases that indicate an aptitude for the position. Your task is to construct your resume to deliver these phrases clearly. The most important areas to focus on are:

•Relevant skills and experience.
•Personal qualities that make you a strong candidate, with achievements to demonstrate them.
•Recent employment, and how it has prepared you for the prospective job.
Clear subheadings, bullet points and the use of emboldened text can all make your CV accessible and informative.
